Diablo II: Resurrected 100% Achievement Grind

A living run log for my attempt to get every D2R achievement, starting with a scuffed pre ladder Warlock prologue and a Hardcore ladder Sorc becoming the main farming character.

Current Structure Day based run log

What is this?

I’m trying to get every achievement in Diablo II: Resurrected. That means clearing Hell with every class, doing endgame stuff I’ve somehow never done despite thousands of hours in Diablo 2, and eventually dealing with large time investment achievements

The run technically started with a pre ladder Abyss Warlock, but Blizzard anounced a ladder reset 2 days after I decided to go on this journey. The main run now follows my Hardcore ladder Sorceress as my starter for this season.

Why this is stupid

I have thousands of hours in Diablo 2, but somehow I might have the least game knowledge of anyone with that much time played. I’ve done full solo self found Hardcore playthroughs through Normal, Nightmare, and Hell, including beating Hell Baal multiple times, but most of my playtime is still almost entirely Sorceress.

I’ve played a little Paladin and Warlock, even less Amazon and Assassin, and there are huge parts of the game I’ve basically never touched. I’ve never done Uber Diablo. I’ve never done the Pandemonium bosses. And D2R’s achievements require beating Hell with every class.

So this is a good excuse to finally branch out. I probably won’t Hardcore every single class, because I’m not completely insane, but we’ll see how stupid I get.

Run Log by Day

Day 0: Pre Ladder Abyss Warlock Prologue

May 8 to May 9, 2026

Abyss Warlock Prologue Hardcore Normal clear

The project technically started here, but this was before the ladder reset announcement. The Abyss Warlock cleared Hardcore Normal and explains why some achievements were already unlocked before the ladder Sorc became the actual focus.

Day 1: Ladder Sorc Start, Ancient’s Pledge, and Nightmare Setup

May 23, 2026

Hardcore Sorc Scuffed Act 1 Ancient’s Pledge Spirit sword Lore helm Caster belt

The real series start. Act 1 was slower than normal, the gear was rough, and Duriel was hard enough to force a Countess farming detour. That also turned into the Ancient’s Pledge mini arc: farm Rals, cube Ort, shop a 3 socket Large Shield from Fara, and get those Sorc’s resists up.

Later, the Sorc started coming online with Spirit, Lore, and a crafted caster belt. Gour told me to organize my inventory, so naturally I used controller auto sort to make it worse. Nightmare Andariel died, and the game was finally fun again.

Day 2: Nightmare Clear and Mephisto Farming Begins

May 24, 2026

Nightmare clear Worldstone Keep misery Mephisto Oculus Hell prep

Act 5 got sketchy. There was a close call around the 4 hour mark, then Worldstone Keep turned into cold immunes, Gloams, no TPs, and general misery. The Nightmare achievement finally popped.

After that, Mephisto farming started. The early MF setup was rough, but it eventually produced Oculus and Chance Guards. Oculus is a huge Sorc find, but not advised in Hardcore, so the plan became using it as a weapon swap MF tool instead of casually running around with it like a retard.

I'm sure I'll regret this later.

Day 3: MF Farming, Goldwrap, and Hell Rebuild

May 25, 2026

Terror Zone Goldwrap 234% MF Suicide Branch Hell re entry

Mephisto farming got stale, so the Sorc’s gear got rebuilt for Hell. Taking off Spirit and using Suicide Branch made the setup safer: losing 1 in skill but stronger resists while staying above a useful FCR breakpoint. It didn't work and was getting my ass kicked in Hell so back to farming...

Then Goldwrap dropped in Nightmare Terror Zone Halls of the Dead. It pushed Magic Find up to around 234%, but replacing the caster belt dropped the Sorc out of the faster cast setup. For Mephisto and Terror Zone farming, the extra MF is probably worth the slower teleports for now.

Day 4: Hell Re entry and Spirit Setup

May 26, 2026

Hell Level 71 Spirit setup Den of Evil Countess plans

After getting tired of farming Mephisto and Terror Zones, I more or less decided to just deal with the slower cast rate so I could keep Spirit for the +2 skills. By this point the Sorc was level 71, resists were mostly fine, and the hope was to push farther into Hell and maybe start getting better runes or a 4 socket polearm base for the merc.

Den of Evil did not seem too bad at first, but Corpsefire was still kind of scary. He killed my merc and chunked me a little bit, but we got him. I also realized I already had the Cairn Stone key from another day, so I walked through Stony Field and that dumb cave you need to get to Dark Wood for no reason.

Day 5: Homunculus, Eye of Etlich, and Act 2 Push

May 27, 2026

Nightsmoke Homunculus Eye of Etlich Act 2 Close calls

Near the start of stream, Mephisto dropped Nightsmoke. Not super exciting, but still something. Later, a random Act 1 pack dropped Homunculus, which is a pretty big item drop even if it is Necromancer only and not directly useful for the Sorc.

Radament also dropped The Eye of Etlich, which is kinda nice for a level 15 amulet. I pushed through Act 2 and had some close calls, so that section is probably worth rewatching for possible tension/highlight beats.

After more gear shuffling, this is more or less the setup I actually decided to tackle Hell with: Suicide Branch, Ancient’s Pledge, Smoke, Lore, Ghoul Necklace, Ghoul Clutches, Death Gyre, Garnet Ring, and Viper Track boots. The final sheet was around 70% FCR with 75 fire, 75 lightning, 73 cold, and 75 poison resist. From what I remember, I ended up finishing Acts 1 and 2 with this setup more or less.

Day 6: Gull Detour, Trav Panic, and Merc Upgrades

May 28, 2026

Gull detour Travincal scare Act 3 clear Merc upgrades Clip

I leveled a Warlock to 11 so I could gamble a Gull dagger, only to find out daggers were not showing up in the gambling screen anymore. This change was made alongside the Reign of the Warlock expansion updates, because daggers were reclassified to hold class-specific skills (similar to wands, staves, and scepters). Consequently, you can no longer gamble for popular low level items like the Gull Dagger. So that was a very productive detour.

The big stream moment was Travincal. I almost died multiple times and kept walking in and out of Durance in a panic trying to get away from the Council. Watch the clip here.

I finished Act 3 on stream and stopped there. After that, I went back to farming Nightmare Mephisto, which dropped Tearhaunch, Duriel’s Shell, Tal Rasha’s Horadric Crest, and Bloodthief. The merc drops should help while I keep looking for a real Insight base.

Days 7–9: NM Meph Farming and Vipermagi Payoff

May 29 to June 1, 2026

NM Meph Cleglaw’s Brace Frostburn Blade of Ali Baba 277% MF Skin of the Vipermagi

The next stretch was mostly Nightmare Mephisto farming across a few days. I got the achievement "Accessorizing for fun and profit" by equipping Cleglaw’s Brace as a complete set.

The farm also produced Frostburns, which are nice when I can afford the resists, and I finally realized Blade of Ali Baba was a safer AND higer MF swap than Oculus. With Ali Baba and Rhyme on swap, Magic Find jumped to around 277% without dealing with Oculus randomly teleporting me in Hardcore.

By rough estimate, this was probably somewhere around 600 to 800 Nightmare Mephisto runs by the time it finally happened, counting the earlier farming nights and another roughly four hour grind on June 1. Then the stupid Skin of the Vagi (heh heh) finally dropped. Skin of the Vipermagi hit the ground with +33 all resists, +1 all skills, and 30% Faster Cast Rate.

Gear / Progress Timeline

Raven Beads amulet

Day 1: Raven Beads Amulet

Early low level amulet with FCR and resists. A small but useful stabilizing piece after Duriel got sketchy.

Ancient's Pledge shield

Day 1: Ancient’s Pledge Complete

Countess finally dropped the Rals, the Large Shield base worked, and the Duriel recovery arc paid off.

Sorc resists after Ancient's Pledge

Day 1: Level 21 / Resists Stabilized

Ancient’s Pledge came online right as the Arachnid Lair spiders were chunking me.

Spirit Broad Sword

Day 1: Spirit Sword

27% FCR was low, but +110 mana and perfect magic absorb made it a huge upgrade anyway.

Crafted caster belt

Day 1: Crafted Caster Belt

Fire and cold res were not perfect, but FCR and mana regen made the Sorc feel much better.

The Oculus drop

Day 2: The Oculus

Huge Sorc find, terrifying Hardcore item. Great for a Mephisto MF swap, scary to actually wear.

Chance Guards

Day 2: Chance Guards

Mephisto farming was rough, but Chance Guards pushed the MF setup forward.

Goldwrap Heavy Belt

Day 3: Goldwrap

Goldwrap pushed MF to around 234%, but cost the faster caster belt setup.

Magic Find stat screen after Goldwrap

Day 3: 234% Magic Find

The MF setup started looking real, even if it meant giving up some cast speed for farming.

Homunculus Hierophant Trophy

Day 5: Homunculus

A random Act 1 pack dropped Homunculus. Pretty big drop, even if it is Necromancer only and not directly useful for the Sorc.

Day 5 Hell setup stats

Day 5: Hell Setup

The setup I more or less took through Hell Act 1 and Act 2: 70% FCR with capped fire, lightning, and poison resists, plus 73% cold resist.

Skin of the Vipermagi drop

NM Meph Stretch: Skin of the Vipermagi

I stand here in complete disbelief. Finally it drops.

Skin of the Vipermagi item roll

NM Meph Stretch: Vipermagi Roll

+1 all skills, 30% Faster Cast Rate, all resistances +33, and Magic Damage Reduced by 9. Basically the exact kind of Sorc upgrade I was waiting for.
